Hello from Iraq!

I am finally getting this blog started after a long wait. Today was the usual stuff that I can't really talk too much about, due to the sensitive nature of my job. All I can really say about that is that I am doing a big part in catching the "bad guys". My days seem to run together since I work the night shift, but on the bright side, that is when the most excitement happens. Lucky me, huh? It actually is a very interesting job. I just wish it wasn't so far away, no wait a minute, I am glad it is far away, because I wouldn't want this to be happening on our home soil. I mean, bad things do happen at home in the states, but not like this. I haven't been here long, but I have already experienced the "bad" parts that nobody wants to ever experience, like the memorials for the soldiers that worked here, killed in action defending the freedom of the people here and keeping terrorism away from our home across the ocean. And the wounded who have to live with that memory for the rest of their lives. On the lighter side, the "good" parts that I have experienced are the people I have met while I have been here. I have met some really great people that will bend over backwards to help in any way they can. Everyone works as a team and has each other's back, no matter what. If anyone is looking for a worthy charity to donate to, I found out about The Wounded Warrior Project. Check out the site and decide for yourself. I will close for now. More to come soon...
