Made it to Qatar...

I just wanted to post and let everyone know that I made it to Qatar. There is nothing but white sand as far as the eyes can see. I will be staying the night here. The flight here was pretty much awful. We had to wear our body armour the whole way. We even had to stop in Baghdad, with it still on and having to carry all of my sea bags and weapons too. I haven't slept since I woke up for work yesterday. It's a little after 6pm now, which means I have been up for 26 hours now. I tried to sleep on the plane, but the attempt failed miserably. It was shoulder to shoulder on a C-130, everyone had their body armor on, so nobody could get comfortable. To make matters worse, it was a 4 hour flight. A C-17 would have been quicker, but I guess there wasn't enough people to justify using it. C-130s are prop planes, so they're much slower. The chow hall here is really nice though. I had a good dinner, and now I am washing my sweat soaked uniform. Then, off to see the Sandman. Afghanistan, here I come. Until next time...
